Lemony Lamb Leg Steak
Lamb leg steaks marinated with Lemon Shio Koji, olive oil and garlic, then quickly pan-fried.
Ingredients
- 200 g Lamb Leg for Steak (less than 1cm thick, 2x100 g pieces)
- 5 g Olive Oil
- 10 g Lemon Shio Koji (1.5 teaspoons)
- Garlic, minced
- Dried Italian herb (Sage is nice) -This is optional
Preparation
- Remove any excess fat from the lamb leg steaks.
- In a bowl, combine the olive oil, Lemon Shio Koji, and minced garlic to create the marinade.
- Coat the lamb leg steaks evenly with the marinade.
- Place the marinated steaks in the refrigerator and let them marinate overnight or for at least 6 hours.
- Before cooking, remove the marinated steaks from the refrigerator one hour ahead of cooking time and allow them to come to room temperature.
Cooking
- Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add a bit of olive oil.
- Once the oil is hot and begins to sizzle, add the dried Italian herb if you have any.
- Immediately place the marinated lamb leg steaks in the pan.
- Cook the steaks for approximately 2 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- Remove the cooked steaks from the pan and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
